The Audit Commisions Use of Resources report on councils across England have been published. Christchurch Council has been awarded 3 stars out of a possible five. The report covers financial measures in five areas, each area has four levels of performance. Only two councils showed very poor results - Liverpool and Rutland.
The three stars given to Christchurch show that it is performing well and above minimum requirements consistently. The commission's report shows the council is giving rate payers good value for money. Michael Turvey, chief executive for the council said. "While we have been informed that we are performing well, we do know that we need to improve in areas of financial management where are performance is only adequate. The report is a useful to us as it gives recomendations. We will over the coming months study these carefully and see how we can adopt them." Discuss this article on the forums. (1 posts) |
