Grand Voyager 2008  The sister company, Jeep, was responsible for the first SUV, so the Chrysler Voyager was the car that gave us the MPV, beating even the Renault Espace in production figures, way back in 1983. Since then it has grown and now it has been renamed the Grand Voyager. The new version has had it's exterior revamped and offers 30 new features.

As for room there is so much space available in this big MPV.  With the "Stow-n-Go" seating system the vehicle can convert to a two seater van in less thana minute.

The new model that goes on sale this month, February 2008, has been around for a while in the USA last year but now arrives in Europe.  While the US version gets a choice of three power plants, the model for the european market will offer 3.6ltr (193bhp) V6 petrol or a 2.8 ltr turbo diesel (163bhp).  Transmission is via a 6 speed autobox.  Prices start at £25,995. Model versions are  LX, Touring and Limited.

For the first time in Europe Chrysler are offering the option of Swivel-n-Go seating on the Limited.  This will give consumers second row storage bins with second row quad seating which wil swivel 180 degrees to face to the rear.  Also the option of heated front and second row seats.  Power sliding door and three zone climate control for all passengers.

Entertainment, the option of twin DVD system with two screens allowing passengers to play a game or watch a different film depending on which seat row they are sat on, second or third.  This system will also give mp3 compatibility.  Throw in too a voice controlled navigation system which has a 20 Gb hard drive which will store possibly 1600 music tracks.

For safety all models come with traction control, ESP, pressure monitoring of tyres, front and all rows side airbags.  Seven full size seats with pre-installed fixings for child seats.

The Ford Galaxy although popular and cheaper doesn't offer the same equipment as Chrysler, has no sliding doors but is nice to drive.  Renault is spacious too with clever interior and good ride but expensive.
