 Jaguar XKR-S Coupe The supercharged 4.2-litre all aluminium 4 cam V8 from the XKR has had it's engine management module recalibrated enabling the motor to produce 420 bhp (SAE) , but dynamically the ‘S’ is very different. There’s a revised suspension that includes new springs (lowering the ride height by 10mm), dampers and anti-roll bars, and recalibrated software for the CATS (Computer Active Technology Suspension) system. The steering ratio has been modified too, to give quicker reactions The speed limiter has been modded too, allowing this XK to touch 175mph (albeit still limited), making it the fastest production Jaguar since the XJ220. Handling this V8 power is a six speed sequential autobox with the option of fast manual changes using steeringwheel mounted paddles. Stopping this cool Cat, Jaguar have used an Alcon-R performance braking system comprising of 400mm front discs squeezed by monobloc six piston calipers and rear discs of 350mm gripped by four piston calipers. All discs are radially ventilated to give maximum cooling therefore resisting brake fade. In the arches Jaguar have fitted 20 inch ultra lightweight Vortex alloys on bespoke tyres. The XKR-S has also has a retuned the active exhaust system to deliver a much harder-edged sound under acceleration while retaining the hushed high-speed cruising ability Jags are renowned for. Bodywise the new Cat can be distinguished by it's new front spoiler/splitter, wire grilles, side sill extensions and revised rear spoiler and diffuser plus power vents. The XKR-S badge on the rear of the car identifies this special edition plus charcoal soft grain leather cabin interior highlighted by twin needle ivory stitching. A Charcoal headlining and door panels and trim items in Piano Black veneer. Add to this alloy and leather gear shifter, bright aluminium foot pedals and XKR-S branded head restraints. Body finish is in Ultimate Black paint. For entertainment Jaguar have installed their superb premium 525W audio system with Pro-Logic surround sound using the renowned British manufacturer of speakers, Bowers and Wilkins, who retuned the system specifically for the XKR-S.
